The Western Precinct, adjacent to State Highway 3, has the potential to house large industrial buildings as well as commercial/retail uses on the gateway entrance road to the precinct.
The Western Precinct, accessed off State Highways 3 and 21, is the home to Visy’s brand new warehouse and manufacturing facility and will be the new HQ for Waitomo Energy as well as a fuel stop and food and beverage offering. There is potential to house a number of other industrial buildings as well as commercial and retain uses.
Smaller industrial sites have an opportunity for direct airside access. Streetscapes feature setbacks (increasing for larger buildings) and high quality office components of buildings.
The NZTA has recently created a new roundabout that leads directly into the Western Precinct, which connects with SH3 Ohaupo Road and SH21 Aiport Road.
